OTTAWA, ON – February 9, 2015 | NorthStar Utilities Solutions, a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Hill-Oschefski, as its Director of Research and Development.
Jason brings excellent industry knowledge in utility billing, customer information systems and meter data management. Jason joined NorthStar in 2009, and moved to Harris’ SmartWorks division in 2011. At SmartWorks Jason was a key contributor to the development of MeterSense. MeterSense is the business intelligence of the smart grid and helps utilities seamlessly integrate smart grid investments, such as advanced metering infrastructures (AMI), into billing, customer service and operations systems. MeterSense is the most feature rich MDM system on the market today.
Jason’s experience with the smart grid provides him with a unique perspective of our customers evolving needs in relation to MDM, AMI, and AMR, and the link between these products and our customers utility billing needs. During his time at SmartWorks, Jason helped bring several products to market including MeterSense, SmartWorks Compass and BizConnect.
Jason has a Software Engineering Degree from University of Ottawa and began his career working for the Department of National Defense and Industry Canada with a focus in electronic communications warfare.
