OTTAWA, ON – February 10, 2016 - NorthStar Utilities Solutions, a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to announce that New Braunfels Utilities is Live on NorthStar version 6.4 and reaping the benefits!
New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) upgraded to NorthStar v6.4 from an earlier version, going live on 6.4 in 2014. Now, one year later, NBU is sitting back enjoying a number of key benefits from their CIS since their upgrade.
“Our NorthStar CIS v6.4 upgrade was one of the smoothest upgrades we’ve had so far,” said Al Kaufmann, Executive VP of Corporate Services. “Working with version 6.4 over this past year has made life at our Utility a lot easier. With 6.4, there are a lot of usability enhancements which have helped us, and with the Automation Platform, we will be able to streamline many of our processes which will really provide a huge benefit, allowing us to be more productive and saving us a lot of time on a day to day basis.”
New Braunfels has also recently implemented CustomerConnect, NorthStar’s Customer Engagement Solution and hopes to roll out their new on-line customer portal in Q1 of 2016. Once available, CustomerConnect will enable New Braunfels customers to measure, monitor and manage usage patterns, access information on-line, and address account questions easily and more quickly than ever before.
New Braunfels Utilities is located in New Braunfels, TX (pop. 51 066) about 48km (30 miles) northeast of San Antonio, TX. Approximately 200 people are employed across NBU’s three service offerings: Electric, Water and Sewer/Wastewater. The Electric system delivers power to over 25 700 meters across 700 miles of overhead and underground distribution lines. The Water system is fed by surface and groundwater sources which meets an annual demand of 3 billion gallons of water for over 18 400 customers on the system.
